WILD for YOU
Nathan Holt has a reputation in Swiftwater, and not one he was proud of. If he had half a brain, he’d stay far away from there. But there was a certain blue-eyed blonde holding his heart, not to mention a half-sister that he barely knew. He had left Swiftwater to protect them from his father. That reason no longer existed.
Bonnie Blakely had been taught to be a proper lady, but inside she felt anything but proper. She longed for a man – a strong, capable man – to put her across his knee. A brief encounter with Nathan Holt had held promise, but he left Swiftwater, Kansas years ago. He had promised he’d return, but as time passed without a word, Bonnie feared her dreams of his firm hand and unconditional love would never be fulfilled.
Bonnie nibbled away on her bottom lip nervously as she closed the distance between her and the gorgeous man sauntering toward her. Keeping her gaze on Nathan, she pulled gently on the reins until the wagon came to a complete stop. He took her breath away. Rolled up sleeves at the elbow exposed his tanned powerful arms. Wet hair hung nearly to his shoulders, droplets of water glistened in between the blond hairs sprinkling his wide chest. Her throat grew dry. Suddenly, she was thirsty and eager to lick those beads of water nestled against his skin.
“Bonnie, I wasn’t sure you’d make it.”
For a split second she panicked, tempted to steer the carriage in the opposite direction and hightail it for home. He was a big man, quite capable of bending her to his will, making her do whatever he desired with just his deep voice. Bonnie inhaled deeply. Isn’t this what she wanted? A man who wasn’t afraid to take her hand?
“I brought you some lunch.” Her voice came out in a high pitch and she winced. She cleared her throat and tried again to sound normal. “I wasn’t sure you’d stop work and take the time to eat.” She set the hand-brake and gathered her skirts in one hand, prepared to climb down from the wagon by herself, but suddenly he was there and plucked her from her seat. He lifted her high in the air. She squealed, grabbing onto his shoulders so she wouldn’t fall. His sinewy flesh bunched beneath her fingers. She looked down and saw the amusement sparkling in his eyes. He pulled her close until their bodies met, then brought her down so her mouth aligned with his. For a brief, exhilarating second, Bonnie thought for sure he’d kiss her with those sensuous lips. Instead, he slowly, sinfully lowered her to the ground, her body bumped and scraped against every bulge and hard plane of his frame.
He bent his head, half his face cast in shadow. “You made me lunch? And here I thought you came by for a spanking.”
