Week 25: THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

aheart's endeavorThere are the books everyone has heard about: Twilight, Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Gray. But what about all those books written by people you’ve never heard of? Some of them are treasures, just waiting to be found, and that’s what this blog hop is all about: the books you might not have heard about, but that you might end up loving.

This blog hop is like a game of tag. One author posts and tags five other authors who link back to their website the next week and tag five new authors. If you follow the blog hop long enough, you’re bound to find some books you’ll love! Maybe you’ll even discover a book that ends up being the next big thing.

I was tagged by Niecey Roy. You can learn more about her book Fender Bender Blues on her website www.nieceyroy.com.

This blog hop includes ten questions to help you learn more about an author’s current work in progress, so here’s a little info about my current project:

1: What is the working title of your book?  My next book, ‘It Had to be Two’ is still under construction. I’m hoping to finish it soon and send it off to my publisher. ‘A Heart’s Endeavor’ is my first release.

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?  Well, I don’t believe that you have to be vacationing in some erotic location to find true love or have a fancy titled job. Love could be waiting in your own backyard, so why not write about a woman who works in a convenience store and falls in love with a state trooper?

3: What genre does your book fall under? Erotic contemporary

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? I really like the actors and actresses of the 1960’s. Clint Walker would look hot in uniform and Maureen O’Hara always made a fantastic leading lady no matter what role she played

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?  There are times when it’s best to allow your heart to overrule your head.

6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? Beachwalkpress published my first book. I’d like to stay with them for my second. I guess we’ll see.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? About a month.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? I can’t mention any titles right offhand, but perhaps stories where the hero or heroine have a flaw or an illness.

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?  When I worked as a cashier I got to know a lot of people. We talked and sometimes they’d tell me their problems. It was shocking to learn that quite a few suffer with depression and felt ashamed because they needed a ‘happy pill’ to get them through the day.

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? The hero, Jack is a state trooper. LOL. I remember women commenting whenever a trooper came into the store about how they wouldn’t mind getting arrested.
