Sleepless nights.
A notebook and pencil were always within arms reach along with a flashlight so I didn’t wake up my husband. Why is it that the best ideas come when you’re trying to fall asleep?
Writer’s block.
Staring at the computer screen and drawing a blank frustrated me to no end. Then as soon as I’d get up walk away, bam, the words hit me. My memory isn’t what it used to be so by the time I ran back to my computer I’d end up forgetting what it was I wanted to put down.
Edits.
Call me wierd, but I always looked forward to my edits. My editor’s special way of wording her comments made me chuckle. She also possessed the art of ripping a paragraph apart, juggling those very same words around and making what I originally wrote sound a heck of a lot better.
So, is all of this worth it? YES!
It will always be worth it no matter what…
Thanks, Savannah. There are times I question myself. Then I look at my cover gracing the top of my tv set and it makes me feel good inside:)
Yeah…oddly, it is worth it, isn’t it? Might as well be. Now that we are writers, we can’t stop, it’s in our blood. LOL.
LOL Vastine. you’re right. Another story is already finished in my head. All I have to do is type it down and hopefully begin this same journay all over again.
Its worth it! Though it doesn’t always feel that way.
I’m with you, Lacey, but the good does outweighs the bad.
